Welcome and thank you for participating in this experiment!

This experiment is conducted in connection with a Master's thesis by the student Sebastian Sauer at the English Department at Aarhus University, Denmark.
The experiment involves English speakers' abilities to tell apart certain speech sounds.

Your Task

You will hear a word spoken by the same speaker. It will either be "stack" or "stuck". After having listened to a word you are asked which of the two you believe you heard. Please decide quickly, without too much thinking, and then click on the button corresponding to the word.

Make sure that you are in a quiet environment or use headphones for the experiment. You may listen to each word up to three times. The audio will not play automatically. To play the audio, either click or tap the icon or press the spacebar.

The experiment takes about 10-15 minutes. You can always abort the experiment at any point.
